The best day of the year is nearly here. Win, lose or draw, there's always a great time to be had, as we let down our hair, and relax after a hard season. The usual suspects will be looked to to provide the entertainment. Nob, Crow, Gommers and Big Jim are perrenial moodsetters, along with Sam, Griffo and Jonny Timbers in recent years. But who's gonna take the reins this year, who's gonna take the next step and move into mad monday immortality with an awesome display?? Who will be...... ......king ...

Which 2 members of the side were slightly embarassed to see each other at a central Geelong cab rank at 3am, both slightly worse for wear, the night before such a crucial game? I'll give some clues, one wears a lotta bling, bowls left arm but apparently can bat left and right handed and his surname rhymes with Strawburton... and the other holds a prominant off field position for the club, is balding, bowls off spin and answers to the ...

seeing as though EBCC is lucky enough to have a mountain of depth, talent and experience playing in all 7 teams this year i thought its a good oppurtunity to put forward a team that consisted of great players from all grades over my time at East.
We all remember the great on-field deeds of our club members, such as Baarsy's 84 and six wickets in the grand final, but what about the deeds that happen after stumps have been pulled?

These are often just as worthy of remembering by all of us, and are most often much funnier.

I will start this off by mentioning one of the funniest things that i have seen off field during my time at East is the incident between Griffo and Baarsy at the Major Draw a couple of years ago which left the mens ...

In my short time at the Mighty Lions I have had the privilege if seeing two consecutive grand final wins and was impressed when Matt Caulfield bowled East to victory against City. The next year Baarsy cleaned up Grovey with 6 wickets after making 80 odd at the top of the order. You would have to put Peter QUICK in the mix and after seeing Big Jim and Lee Allan strut their stuff and Blair finish off Newcomb this year, you have a lot to consider. In my humble opinon Matt Caulfield gets my vote ...

Have you played with, coached or watched a player at a junior level with EBCC,that has just been so dominant or gifted but never gave a toss and didn't fulfill expectations or they just simply under-achieved?

I remember playing alongside Brad Edwards one year in U/17's (circa 2002), he was a player quite similar to Tony Heazlewood with his ability to time the ball, and when he hit it, it stayed hit! Then after junior's "bagga" seemed to fall off the face of the planet! played a ...

Often conversations strike up around the club as to "Who is the best EBCC player to watch?"

My personal favourites, remembering my time at EBCC is relatively short compared to others, must be Mr. Tony Heazlewood. For a bloke that is "Mr. Casual" he just seems to be able to time the ball so well from the first ball. I seem to think everytime i've watched "Suitcases" bat i've commented that "Only Tony will get himself out today!", and on most occasions ...
