U/15 Round 3 vs Geelong City
Geelong City batted first & at one stage were in a commanding position at 2/103 off 30 overs. Full credit to our bowlers for sticking to the task at hand which saw the next 8 wickets fall for 33 runs to dismiss Geelong City for 136. The main wicket-takers being Alex Brittain (2/12), Mitch McDonald (2/15) & George Gray (2/1). With 4 overs to face on day one we finished at 2/20, losing the wickets of openers Jack Ryan & Mitch McDonald, much to the ire of coach Gerry.
Day 2 belonged to Sam Lowe (51 ret) whom relished his promotion up the batting order. Sam was prepared to dig in & really put a value on his wicket, with his running between wickets & ability to take every run on offer a clear highlight. Involved with Sam in some crucial partnerships were Jake Hickey (7), Michael Crossett (16) & Mick Wakefield (22). Other useful contributors with the willow were Mitch Thomas (21), Keegan Doherty (16) & Gavin Leather (10). East finished up with 9/207, great win guys.
Special thanks to Jack Ryan & Mitch McDonald for sub fielding with our U/17's, I know all involved with the U/17 side really appreciated your assistance.
