U/15 EBCC v Bell Post Hill
Last week we made 8/192
We opened up with our big guns Tom and James, who both struggled for line and length early. The pitch was very wet from overnight sprinklers I suspect, this made the pitch very slippery and difficult to run in hard.
Our first four bowlers bowled well without success, BPH opening partnership was 71 and they were batting sensibly before they lost their first wicket to Mitch Mcdonald after a fantastic catch from Joel. Jake came on to bowl and had immediate success, bowling the other Opener making BPH 2/78. In the last four overs before break BPH last a wicket every over to leave them 6/95 at break. Well bowled to Jake 4 overs 2/16, Mitch Thomas 4 overs 2/11, Mitch McDonald 2 overs 1/1 and Jackson Brennan 3 overs 1/7.
After break the wickets continued to tumble with Jack getting 1/7, Michael Wakefield 1/9 and Michael Crossett 1/2. BPH were all out for 135 after being 0/70. The fielding this week was fantastic, I have mentioned Joels catch and Jack held two catches that had some real heat on them and there was a great run out by Tom. BPH were all out for 135.
We batted again for ten overs, well done to Jake 16no and Michael Wakefield 11no.
This weeks award winner is Joel for his match winning innings last week, which boosted us from an average score to a good one. He also took a great catch and bowled well. Congratulations Joel
Well done boys, see you Monday night for training and don't forget your chocolate money if you haven't already handed it in.
Good luck to the boys playing this afternoon.
