EBCC v HIGHTON 23/2/08 U/15

Highton won the toss and elected to bat.

They started cautiously due to some excellent bowling from Tom and James. Tom got a wicket in his fifth over and Jimmy two wickets in his last over. Tom's figures were 6 overs 4 maidens 1/6 and Jimmy's 6 overs 3 maidens 2/12.

After a good opening twelve overs from Tom and Jim, Highton were 3/21. Joel and Bill took over from Tom and Jim and kept the pressure on Bill took 1/6 and Joel 0/6 from their 4 overs, after 20 overs Highton were 4/40.

The two Mitch's replaced Bill and Joel and both had success in their 3 overs, Mitch McDonald 3 overs 2/6 and Mitch Thomas 3 overs 2/3. Mitch Thomas has had a great 2008 so far taking regular wickets in both juniors and seniors, well done Mitch. Mitch is a good example of what bowling at the stumps does, of his last five wickets in the U/15 4 have been bowled.

Michael Wakefield picked up the last wicket and there were two run outs.

Highton finished all out for 65.

We batted for 20 overs and are 2/118. Billy looked good in his return game from injury scoring 19. Jimmy smashed them scoring his 54 retired from 12 overs including 3 sixes !!!!. Tom also batted well and is 35no which includes 2 sixes.

We look forward to next week, having a long bat and everyone contributing.
