Round 4 v Highton U/15 Empty Round 4 v Highton U/15

A One Day Game 27 overs per side.

Highton won the toss and elected to bat.

We got off to a good start, after 8 overs 0/15. Jimmy 4 overs 0/5 and Joel 4 overs 0/9

Mitch & Bill continued the tight bowling. Mitch 3 overs 1/16 and Bill 4 overs 0/2 (3 Maidens) Well bowled guys.

After 16 overs Highton were 1/33 excellent cricket from EBCC was making it tough for Highton to score.

Michael and Jake then came on to bowl, Michael's first ball a wrongun that narrowly missed bowling the batsman.
Hard to bowl a wrongun at the best of times, but first ball of your spell is gutsy. Well bowled Michael.

Jake, Michael, Jackson Shiva and Mitch all bowled well in the second half of the innings to restrict Highton to 3/79 from their 27 overs.

Highton had missed a number of singles throughout their innings and we were determined not to do the same.
Bill and Renin batted positively and got us off to a good start 1/30 after 8 overs, Bill making 12.

Renin and Jimmy then put on 40 runs before Jimmy was caught by an excellent catch for 15. ( Jimmy has been caught twice this season from excellent catches, but if you hit them in the air Jimmy these things happen !!!)

Mitch McDonald came to the crease and missed out this week, being bowled for 2. Michael Crossett joined Renin
and they ran 10 consecutive singles and showed everyone how to run between the wickets. Renin retired at 30, his highlight being a towering six over mid wicket. The first one of his career, hopefully a lot more to come.
We should offer the ball to Adam Gilchrist as he is still looking for the ball he lost !!!!

Michael and Nathan continued the good running between the wickets. Michael retired at 34 and Nathan made a career high score of 17, well done Nathan. Joel and Jackson provided some entertainment at the end making 5 and 3 respectively. Jackson and Nathan were not out.

Our first win !!!! we finished 4/125 a fantastic effort.

This weeks GOLDPIN Player of the match award is Michael Crossett. Congratulations Michael, well batted and excellent running between the wickets.

See you all Monday.

Paul

good work paul but you forgot about the fluky run out.

i threw the worst ball to michael the keeper and it hit his pads onto the stumps, awesome. luckily for me it counts as my run out haha.

good stuff paul keep it up.

great effort boys, a well fought out win. I think the biggest positive with the wins was our running between the wickets. It started with Renin and Billy, you boys are starting to form a good understanding and the running shows that. I really liked your six Renin your hook shot has really improved and is scoring you runs.

Jimmy looked very good and it was a good catch to get him out, Kriggy and micheal crosset batted really well.

I look forward to taking this good form into next weeks game

Well Done lads
