Round 3 v Newtown
This week was an extended One Day Game 40 overs per side.
We won the toss and Jimmy elected to bowl.
We got off to a good start haveng NCCC 1/2 after 3 overs. A beautiful ball from Jim saw the the off stump knocked out of the ground. NCCC consolidated and lost their second wicket at 43. It was a brilliant catch by Michael Wakefield in the gully. Well bowled by Jake. The third wicket was at 78 bowled by Shiva and the fouth wicket at 117 caught behind bowled by Michael Crossett. NCCC did have three boys retire before they had scored 40 runs. Overall not a bad bowling performance.
Our turn to bat and we were in early trouble at 1/3, but a good partnership from Renin and James got us back on track. Renin scored a solid 14 and James a quickfire 32 with 18 coming from one over. We steadily lost wickets after James departed and we finished all out for 85. Mitch McDonald showed how it could be done by keeping the ball along the ground making 20 at the end. Well done Mitch.
This games player of the match and winner of the Gold Pin Ten Pin Bowling Award
was James McMahon. Congratulations James.
See you all Monday night for practice and the final of the Double Wicket.
